Pakistan Cricket Board established the league in 2015 and launched it in February 2016 as its first season with five franchises. Islamabad United won the championship title in first ever edition. PCB added another team in season 2018 expanding the league. Later the debutant season of team PCB terminated the ownership rights of the franchise with Schon Properties. Earlier this year Ali Treen s/o Former Federal Minister Jahangir Tareen bought the franchise. The owner decided to retain the previous name of franchise representing South Punjab.

Ltd. Is entering its fourth edition. The tournament is scheduled to begin from
February 14 and culminate on March 17. United Arab Emirates competition
comprising 34 matches with last eight games in Pakistan. The franchises were
set to retain ten players from the previous squad. They acquired players from
six categories in players draft, i.e. Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver,
Emerging, and Supplementary.
